What Is NEET? (CBSE NEET 2017)
NEET 2017 is basically an entrance exam conducted in India for candidates who desire to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental courses (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in private or government medical colleges in India. NEET (Undergraduate) for BDS and MBBS courses would be organized by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). NEET-UG has replaced the AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) and all other individual MBBS exams organized by states or colleges themselves.
UG (undergraduate) courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawarharlal Institute of (PG) Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are exempted from the NEET’s purview, as these institutes were founded under a separate laws.
Reason for NEET Notification Delay:
As you might have an idea that every year NEET application form are released within the first week of December. But this year it is being delayed. Language barrier must be a reason for that. As per CBSE, NEET 2017 exam will be held in 8 different languages like Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese and Bengali. Candidates belonging to these territories are demanding the NEET syllabus and other study material in their prescribed language. Due to unavailability of syllabus and other stuff in these languages, CBSE is considering this matter seriously and taking time for that. CBSE is about to decide this issue shortly for providing the application form notification. Source – sarvgyancom
